The Opium Lizards are large retpiles of unknown origin. They are carnivores and are known and herded by the Orc as sources of Opium.
The lizards need sunlight to completely metabolise meat and as a by-product of this metabolism they secrete Opium from in between their scales.
In warm climates the Opium is secreted as a thin paste, that is dried and powdered. In cold climates it is secreted as thin white crystals.
Opium Lizard Egg
The Lizards are immortal and do not reproduce. In 1402 Mulghragh located the last 12 eggs to be found within the Svaldbard forest. He established that the eggs of the Opium Lizard are ancient lizard eggs that have been affected by an ancient being that lives under Svaldbard forest. (See Lay of Thund)
